Australia Flag Colors Meaning
The Australian flag has a blue background with the Union Jack located on the upper hoist quarter, a 7-pointed white star in the lower hoist corner, and the Southern Cross. The Union Jack represents Australia’s historical link with the United Kingdom and our continuing place in the Commonwealth.
The 7-pointed white star represents the six states and the territories of Australia. The Southern Cross is a constellation of stars that can only be seen in the southern hemisphere.
- Blue: It represents vigilance, truth and loyalty, perseverance & justice
- White: It symbolizes peace and honesty.
- Red: It represents hardiness, bravery, strength & valor.
Note: The New Zealand flag looks almost the same, except that it has only the four larger stars on the right, and they’re red for some reason.
